I'm new to this site and am in need of some advice, first of all its a 1959 cad coupe deville, 390, carter carb. Here's the issue, carb was recently rebuilt gasket stack is in properly, fires right up but will not stay running after it fires it idles for about 20 seconds perfectly then starts to sputter and stalls. it also is leaking fuel from the passanger side of the carb down near the base but not from the gaskets it looks like the secondary butterfly bushing might be shot. Could that be the problem and the only problem that's causing it to die. Before the carb rebuild it ran great but wouldn't idle due to the floats being out of position it would flood and die out. Any ideas on what to check or if the leak from the fly is the issue causing this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
