It's just an ordinary Fiat colour chosen from an old swatch.
Painted in 2k on a light gray primer base
I think it was called Bordeaux?? color code 073 I think.

It's only a straight forward paint job!

Killer thread idea, I love looking and studying different frame designs and engineering. These are some pics of the chassis under my '34 roadster. Pretty basic frame design, I wanted to keep it as traditional and simple as possible without trying to over engineer anything.

Here are some pics of my dads coupe chassis. When we first got the project, it had a 4 bar set up front and rear from the good ol 70's. Luckily the original frame wasn't too hacked up, so we put in a model a rear crossmember, boxed the front part of the rails, and suicided the front end about 4" with the spring in back of the '37 tube axle for a slightly stretched profile.

SinisterSpeed, your roadster is without a doubt one of my favorite cars built in the last decade or so! Your dad's coupe rocks too!

Wow...I just ruined my keyboard drooling all over it.
Most any of those would be perfect for my 3 window.

That is a great looking set-up. It almost a shame that he had to put a body on it.

Built in the early 50s. As period as it can get....because it was built in that period and has been sitting since 1959!

    Neal,

    Please don't take offense...

That car was a perfect example of how it was done in thousands of home shops "back in the day"... I would have kept it the same as you found it... A Hot Rod Time Capsule. Making all that stuff "purty" is akin to airbrushing out the bags from under the Mona Lisa's eyes...

    Still a great car....

    Very nice!
How much drop do you have on that axle? maybe just the year, but it looks pretty extreme compared to my 30 with 3".

  29. Outstanding!
