Finally painted my tailgate. The Black in the 4th pic is a sticker kit you can buy off one of the truck sites, that I used as a stencil.

Did the "Cruise to the hills" up to Pine Valley yesterday. 119 miles round trip. My 53 and my fellow Helldiver Junkyardkids' 35 ferd rallied the hills like champs!

119 miles and 7.3 gallons of gas. 16 miles per gallon. Pretty sweet.

How is the paint on the tires holding up with the test of time?

I backed up against a curb, and it didnt hold up very good. But besides that dumbass manuever they are holding up good. All in all I think it still looks good, especially for the price. I am going to do a touch up soon and will post before and afters.

Just bought this. Says "multipower" on it, looks like an Edmunds casting. Anyways, One step closer to dual carbs.

Been trying to find a spare wheel, for a little while. My buddy James, Junkyardkid, was at a "ford sale" and went in some shed and boom there it was. And he got it for a wopping 5 bucks. So awesome! Thanks James

Re did the painted wide whites. Was going to try and make a card board stencil. Then decided to use a brush. Just sprayed the can paint into a cup, and painted away. Literally took 20 minutes. I already had the whitewall there, so it was just really a big touch up. Stoked on how it turned out.

Funny, I thought you were 53 in South Dakota. LOL.

It's nice to see this thread. The interior is great!
The rear bumper looks good, too. Ditto the tires.
I think you'll like dual carbs. Better fuel distribution may even net you better mileage, depending on how you drive. (You might also want to keep your eyes peeled for some hi-lift rockers arms, just because. :D)

Just spent the last 30 minutes lost in looking and reading about the hi-lift rockers. My eyes are soo peeled for those.

Oi....yeah I told Paul to "watch out" ....But between the beauty rings, and Bullets on my wipers, the 53 and the shitbox are looking like they hang out together.

I thought it was awsome that you still had the original tailgate. Your truck is sweet love the route you have gone. Keep on trucking.

Thanks. Having the original Tailgate was sweet. The thought that my Grandpa and Dad always held on to it, kinda like they knew I would need it.

Thanks! The next is to add this 6 volt driving light. Just gotta make a bracket, or drill a hole in my splash pan, which im kinda trying to avoid.

Bit the bullet today. Just bought some real wide whites.

Been noticing some bigger cracks in my tires. But the newest, the tires Ive been rolling, is the late 80's.

I guess its time for some real Wide Whites. I am getting Firestone, 650-16, Bias-Ply, 4.00 in wide white..

Driving light, Went with a yellow lens instead.
