RIP Big Willie

 

RIP Big Willie. He is with Tomiko now. He died from a broken heart that could not be fixed.

 

Legend. No more pain in his later years to hold him down. Hoping he find's the Kingdom of God.

 

That's sad news, R.I.P.

 

Hauling ass is good for the soul

 

I'm sorry to hear about his trials. We will all hope that his remaining time will be spent with his family and friends and that he will be pain free.

This is very sad,indeed. I had met Willie a couple of times at the 4th of July babaque's in Compton.
Does anyone know: Was Willie diabetic?

I remember Big Willie coming down to the Westchester Bob's Big Boy and to Sandys in Torrance, to hang with us.

Also I was fortunate to race at Terminal Island

This really bums me out hearing about him. Big Willie was no doubt the only man in L.A. with the talent to pull racers together and keep Johnny Law "reasonably" happy. He was able to facilitate not only the opening, but the operation of Brotherhood raceway. Always Cool he was!

I can still hear his voice announcing a race for "hot dogs". R.I.P. our Brother, you earned it!!

Big Willie Tribute & Vigil - Two Locations for Thursday 05/24/2012

Tomorrow Thursday between 4:00pm - 10:00pm
There will be a Tribute held at Irwindale Dragstrip
sometime during their Thursday Night Test N Tune.
You will have to pay admission to get in the gate.
Address: 500 Speedway Drive
Irwindale, CA 91706

Then At 11:00pm there will be a Candle Light Vigil held at 135th and Main St.in Los Angeles (Willobrook) California.
You will find the location off the 110 in between the 91 and 105 freeway.
There is no fee for this gathering just be there.
