Kan't believe ya got the truck ready for the trip. Jeff you're the man!! If you saw it where is the pictures? I thought you always had your camera with you. Happy Trails, Mick
Man he was going so fast. Must have been late for work. Besides I'm not as fast with my camera anymore. Come to think of it I'm to old to be fast with anything.
Did you repair the car that was damaged/destroyed on the east coast? Looks GREAT!!! Chris Nelson Kansas
It's not finished..... I always get tired of them when they get shiny paint. I been riding Jeff pretty hard to get this thing done enough to cruise in somewhat of a color this year. It's not perfect for the indoor shows, but it's perfect enough to drive the shit out of it. This is going to be a build and perfect as I drive it vehicle. The chrome isn't done, and there are some rough edges, but there are also some more modifications to be done......My old 52 went through some facelifts when I had it, and ...I'm approaching this truck the same way. Beaters are alot more fun to drive than shiny cars...... it's 130 am as I write this, when i should be packing for the trip to Santa maria. I had planned to leave for california Sunday morning but there were a few mechanical issues to address last minute so voodoo jim and I will be getting a late start...... aside from the paint and Body at jeff's shop, there has also been a lot of mechanical issues in the mix..... Voodoo jim has been working his ass off to get this 292 running right. a new manifold, new cast iron headers, a good new HEI and the right carburetion got this six singing pretty....... we also added some sound deadener and insulation along with door seals and carpet to make it quieter on the inside. driving it the other day I noticed some squeaks and rattles that I had never heard before from the front suspension and decided to impose on my suspension guy Gary Clark to take a look at ...... can't thank him enough for taking it on in the last minute.... he put it on the rack and it was decided to replace ball joints and a arm bushings ..... along with wheel bearing check and repacks as well as fixing some small leaks that developed over the last few years in the body shop...... I hate building cars on deadlines, but if it wasn't for them, nothing would get done..... so if ya see the truck at Santa maria, look close or take it in from 15 feet..... I'm proud of it either way....This truck was built so far with the help of friends and brothers and that makes it mean more to me when i'm driving it... this is just a phase of this truck's life......It'll get to the 'finished' stage someday... but I'm not in too much of a hurry to get there.............
It was kool to watch your '52 go through kustom changes year afte year. It went through a lot and ya guys had a blast getting there. Most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the drive. It's already kool as is,,,,, Do you have any pictures of your truck all together, maybe 15 ft away? Enjoy the drive.... Happy trails, Mick
Corners rounded, fenders attached to body, fender gaps filled in door jamb... wait is it fair to play since I watched some of it going down?
Tail lights extended, bumpers flipped, "kustom" EngineProX message on the radiator, bed "spear" tips opened up...
