Cool truck!!! I love the 55-59 Chevy and GMC pickups - always have. I just got a '55 GMC 150 w/ a 248 stovebolt in it. Been in AZ mountains all it's life. I am going to keep it at my place in Overgaard on the rim. Not sure what the plans are for her at this point but I had to pay $2K more than you for my "start" :)

Yes she's pretty straight and no rust - the beautiful thing about AZ as you know :D. I may just get her running and drive her around "as is" in Heber-Overgaard. The truck is just south of Flag where you are. I am going to go pick it up Saturday and haul it to my cabin and use it there. Keep up the great work on your project!!!

Thats one of the things I like about Az! If my truck had been anywhere else it probably would've ended up at the scrapper! Cool man, if you ever come up here let me know. I know that they are starting to do cruise nights up here more.

Those GMC grills are awesome. Does chrome cleaner come in a 1/2 gallon bottle?

How long did it take you to get your doors aligned? They look great BTW!

Man you're not kidding. Even though I didn't have rust in my 55 GMC I had "abused doors". They were seriously jacked up. The lower hinge pockets were way out of shape from fatigue and I ended up drilling out all the spot welds and ordering replacenent pieces to weld in. I had to rebuild all the hinges too with new pins and bushings. I hope when all of this is back together I can align everything.

Hey do you know anyone with a bumper filler panel for sale for a 55-56 GMC Pickup? Someone had wrapped a rope or chain around the bumper on mine before I got it and mangled the filler panel. I am going to try to straighten it but with the curves in it I am thinking it may be tough.

Yea thats what I would do. Took me awhile but I finally found a center grille bar, guy in Wellton had one. My bumper filler panel is a little tweaked too but I think I can straighten it. Have you tried Desert Valley Auto down there? I know they have some GMC's in their yard.

No I haven't tried them yet - they are usually pretty high and I thought I would surf around and try to find one elsewhere first. I may star a post on my truck and share a bunch of pics and stuff there - I don't want to Hijack your thread :D Tom
