They all didn't end up going in a straight line.

  12. Johnny Roberts stude powered crosely super mod. 1957. Ionia Speedway, Ionia michigan at the big 1/2 mile track at the fairgrounds. This is argueably the first super mod in west michigan. It was bad fast so I am told. My time sheets from the race tell the same thing.

Here is George Potter with his finished 49 Hotshot. It has a warmed up engine, with dual carbs, dual pipes and 1/4 race cam. He tricked out the rims by widening them to 4 inches to accept wider tires. He took 1 1/2 inches out the windshield to get a lower profile, filled the seams and and added a woodgrain dash. The header he made, as shown in the engine picture, tied 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 together, which he said made it sound like a couple of Harley's. He remade them, connecting 2 & 4 and 1 & 3 together, now it sounds sweet.

Also, here's another shot of the white Crosley at Wilmington.

I just found this thread. I rode several times with Dave Lukkari in his Crosley. We were in the Tourin Tin car club. He was one of a kind. Just like his Crosley.

Dave Lukkari, "He was one of a kind".
Yes he was, one of the coolest guys I met after getting back into the scene in the early '90s...
The Ardun equipped mill in his Crosley, was the same one he ran later in his rod.

This Crosley was run by Bader and Fererra, Cypress, CA, ran a blown Cad, ran mid to high 130s on gas, ran Santa Ana, Lions, etc, mid-to-late '50s, painted bronze, if I remember right...

Thanks for the info. 296ardun. Just a random pic. I came across, with no history to go along with it. Much appreciated!

Thought I would jump in, we are just finishing this little guy at the shop, has early 12 in. Halibrands and early sw gauges, header and a weber carb should be a blast to take to Hallet road course and have some fun! Maybe to Goodguys and do the autocross.:)

    Enjoy, Jason HRG

That's a cool mod- love the rounded front wheelwells and lowered windshield. Interesting solution to the blockiness of the stock Super Sports door tops... I may do something similar with mine.
