Had a 64 2 dr ht, factory 271. did not get eng or trans. The factory built one with a 63 grill so I decided to do the same, loved the car. original vintage burgandy. had magnum 500 for wheels.

got a few updates. the wife got the frame rot chopped out and the Crites piece installed. she's been welding since was 14 and has been doing it for a living for a number of years. she TIGs, MIGs, stick - you name it and she is an artist BTW.

the last pic is of the Crites piece roughed-in. take a look at the lower rail and notice how well the Crites mimics the contours of the original frame.

the Crites piece is about a 1/4 inch narrower than the original frame and taps in nice and snug. later I'll post some shots of the completed repair but the Missus and I are vegging out after a long (but happy) day of metal play ;).

Here's my '61 2dr sedan that I built in the late '80's. Originally a 292 with 41K miles bought from the widow of the original owner. I installed a 390/401 with 3x2 intake, 3-spd Cruiseomatic, Tractionmaster bars, and dual exhaust with cutouts. It was a neat car that ran great and drew lots of attention at car shows. Like everything else, I sold it and moved on to other cars.

  5. Thought someone would post the one that sold twice on B-J for a total of $1,750,000 must be a nice one lol

Thank you. I cannot take credit for the chop, although I am trying to gather the history of the car. Hopefully, it will be my ride into Mooneyes Christmas Show 2012. Fingers crossed...

At the same time I unearthed the '63 Chop Top, I pulled this '65 two-door coupe along with it, that one of my friends immediately put dibs on to buy for a resurrection to the dragstrip. Its a killer car, and with minimal effort on his part, will be out soon.

I posted this picture on page 2 of this thread,.. I got it in 08' or 09',.... I tried to sell it for a while pretty cheap with no takers (a lot of people wanted it, but didn't have money, wanted me to trade, or offered time payments),... so it's been languishing in the back of the barn being used as a shelving unit,.....

I keep thinking it would be fun to drag it out, do the brakes, knock out a few knots and use it as a summer beater,...... or,....... maybe just leave it as a shelving unit,.... (the headlights are in the trunk with a TON of parts)

Speedyb - that's got to make you feel good. The fate of the '64 fairlane ... have you got that back to the house to get it back on the roadways??

Mine is DD but I'm gathering parts for some upgrades.
