allergies....killing me...but must push on, and creep on creepin on right!?
todays task was headlight bezel trimming 101:

im using the stock 56 oldsmobile bezels, but cutting them down here you can see the difference between the cut bezel on the left and the uncut on the right

after making my template for the cut to match up as flush as possible to the fenders i bolted the bezel up in hopes of a nice snug fit. pretty much the entire top and sides are cut off...

all in all it diddnt turn out too too bad. im gonna have some work in these headlight bezels and fenders when all is said and done, but this is the kind of stuff i really enjoy

so after getting that buttoned up somewhat i decided id set the glass in the back window opening and see what goin on with that:

just got head first into it with an "i can handle this, its only metal" attitude and you'll do fine. take a lot of time with the planning stage and it takes the sting out. even if you only get an hour in here and there look at is as one hour closer to the finish! good luck with your ford and start a build thread, id love to check it out!

  11. Nice save! Love the progress you've made.

So this car ended up back into my possession thanks to Max and the fact that I just moved back to Ca this year. I work on it on Monday nights and will post some new pics...maybe even start a new thread with the whole story on the car and follow the build progress.

    Stay tuned.

Here are some updates. Finished the chop that I started when I was 19. I'm now 35.

Cut the door skin off to put a new one in. Also patched the rust at the bottom if the door.

Going to finish there door then work in the tail lights and bumper. After that then to the front of the car.

My goal is to complete the metal work by the end of the year. Then mechanical work to follow.

The plans are 283 with a 3 speed OD on the column. Stock rear end and front end. Lowered but no bags.

Long story short, I started the build when I was 19, put it on hold to build my brothers car after he broke his neck then moved out of state. My dad tried to sell it with no luck so had a wrecking yard pick it up. Max picked it up at the yard and started working on it. I moved back to Ca last year and Max got another project and gave the Olds back to me to finish. I plan on starting a new thread soon with the whole story and pics from 17 years ago when I first got the car. Definitely a good story in its entirety.

And yes the Packards are going in without the reverse light along with a 56 Buick rear bumper.
