Looks like a '55 unless he used a '55 grille in his '56. Regardless, I love the car.

    It's a 56. Look at the roofline:D
    And no, it's not a 56 roof on a 55

Thanks, Dean and Ron. Yes, I used a '55 grille and side trim, but it is a '56 Vic. Here's the other end:

You had to do it. Now I want my old sled back more than ever. 4" chopped top, with a 50 Lincoln three piece rear window, slanted door posts, and filled quarter windows. Alexander bros. style front clip with Studebaker pans, and Olds headlights. Merc tailights, and a rolled pan in the rear, 57 Cadillac scoops in the quarters. I need to get my old pictures scanned, and then I'll post them.

Just gorgeous 50fraud. My 56 Vic (oops I mean my Wife's) is shaved, decked, and lowered with big and littles chrome reverse and baby moons, but has a long way to go to be as "RIGHT" as yours. Just beautiful. Got any more 55,56 Merc tail lights?

Thank you. Coincidentally, I was inspired to buy and build a '56 Vic by a black one with dark tinted windows that I saw in MN years ago -- VERY similar to your car.

I found those Merc taillights on eBay with a BIN of $75 for the pair; even all the lenses were very useable. I think that was my one lifetime chance to find a deal like that.

Can't guarantee it but I think this is THAT car. Don Walters bought the car in 1989 in MN and he and a friend Larry restored it there, he started showing it in 1993, in 1996 the car and owner moved to Missouri, the Vic was sold to the friend Larry in Shell Knob in 1997. I bought it in 2007 from Larry's widow. I redid all the interior trim, new tires/wheels, added 400 watts of sound, Edelbrock carb, Flowmasters, redid the power windows and door kickers, replaced the R&P steering. I also replaced the rotted front cross-member. 55 56 owners make sure your front cross-member is solid they rot from the inside!!!

This may not be the right area to post this but after 50fraud's post I had to reply.

JeffB2, now I said they could borrow my car for the video if they didn't post it on YouTube. Ha Ha. There used to be a very fast Fuchsia 1956 Vic that ran at the old Irwindale drag-strip in Calif about 100 years ago when I was 20, this one reminds me of it.

I found a few more pictures, none of these are mine but here they are. The aqua one with all the people is from Australia. Most people know the Alloway built Skyliner, the other is a car I saw for sale ages ago, always liked the way it sat. Please excuse the dope with the camera he had a better spot in line. I think the last one is a H.A.M.B. member too.

Here's a color scheme I considered for a while for my car, based on the old Coast Daylight
steam train. I thought it was pretty neat, but I knew that after a while I'd be embarrassed to drive it. I know I made the right decision.

The 4449, that would be badass, I wonder how many people would get it. One of my other loves steam locomotives.

That red and white one with the skirts, me likes. Looks kinda like the venue might be the LA Equestrian Center they used to have a few shows there in Burbank CA.
