Long as custom wag were talked about, and I must love wags, I had 18 of them over the years and towed my racecars with them.
Two things I always liked a lot was Studebakers wag sliding top and GM Vista top windows, plus any two door wag,vs not so much 4dr.
Using a Thunder Bird rocket body or other body style that was never a wag at all, as a start, combo these two top ideas into a sectioned and choped wag with good flow lines would be cool. Would be kind of rubble seat in rear under slide top with vista top as windsheild working for that.
Maybe the tires would stick out top of front feander to match up with a very big blown motor sticking up as well.
Gary would be the one to drew it up.

Some may not like it.. But my son does..And it's different..

I got this idea, its a pussy stretcher.

See its these two sticks with some canvas in between them. When your cat gets hurt you just put it on the pussy stretcher and rush it out to the car or whatever. No getting scratched or nuthin.

I'll bet that if you could look in enough garages you would eventually find someone doing this already.

Maybe someone as done it but how about a35 -36 D 400? A 37 E 400 with the bustle trunk would look real nice.

  13. I hate to say this but if you took another front end and used just the fender reveal to build a set of front fenders from that thing would look real finished.

If I only read the first line I would say I got one that I came from the factory with. :D

    Maybe not strictly a "traditional"
build in the true sense of the word
    but what'da'ya' think people? How
    about a full-fendered, near-stock
    bodied, circa 1937 to 1940 1/4-ton
    Bantam panel or pick-up body,
maybe with the top chopped a couple
of inches and the body slammed into
the weeds and heavily channeled over
a steel-tube chassis, with some sort of
    late-model-style front-drive trans-axle
mounted in the bed area and hooked
    to a transverse-mounted, turbo'd,
    EFI'd and Esslinger "ARCA-style'
    aluminum-headed 2.3 Pinto engine,
set at a still somewhat conservative
and reliable 450 hp! Add to the mix, a
quick-ratio rack & pinion steering, IFS,
    16-inch wheels (vintage magnesium
    Halibrands maybe - with 'knock-offs'
    too??!!) but with low-profile, super
    sticky, corner-carving, gumball rubber
    (Pirelli P-Zero's maybe?) all around.
    Tiny, short-wheelbase, super-light
weight, a ton of horsepower and at
    least somewhat 'traditional' late-1930's
    body styling, but with go-kart-like
    handling and 'beau coup' traction!
    Think "vintage-bodied - but with
    modern-day-tech", mid-engined,
    street-legal, canyon or road racer!
    Fun or hat??!!!:eek::eek::D

Just take the trunk lid off a 59 or 60 flat top and you will have a short bed 4 door elk;)

A lot of tri five shorties out there. Like this.

They're ugly (IMO) and just way out of proportion.
But, if you chop the top at the front to level out the upper window opening somewhat,
section it about 4 inches, use 2 door doors and drop it, you get this.

Or possibly this car? This image pops up now and then here. But I also saw one in Street Scene awhile back, new build. It was a flat black, low, 27 roadster with a one piece hood and 35 grille. It was very, very nice but I don't have a photo of it. Gary

Then we would have multiple threads about asking for old harper and getting sailor jerry....

rockasilly chicks with no tattoos? that ones so wild it would just be downright cool!

  21. I'd like to apply a full HAMB style circa '63 parts list to a competition coupe, and use new body panel from, say, a GM sub- compact. Sorta like my HAMB- friendly Prius in the second thumbnail (below).

More wacky stuff in the link(s) below..

I do now and then like a well done "Cut Up" with lines that flow some, Atomic Punk type deel but not bubble top, were ya take a 50's or 60's or even 70's body and cut it down to the point its about the size of "A" coupe, with open wheel front and big motor.
To that end a boat tail Buick Riviera would look neat if the boat tail window can be worked in as rear deck and the covered headlights worked into

  26. I often thought about using a Ford COE cab and grafting it to a 55 Ford panel truck body that has been sectioned and stretched vertically to fit the height of the COE. Sort of a COE panel truck, could be used as a camper.

Back in the mid-1960's, Drag racer
    Dave Koffel did something similar.
He grafted the rear 3/4's of an
    early-60's Chevy Suburban body
shell to the back of the cab of a
5-ton Chevy straight truck, to build
    this unique car hauler.

  28. A Pro-mod body like say a '57 Chevy built as a custom.

Then there is always windshield wipers on a ducks ass, they'll work really well if it don't rain.

I am serious about the pro-mod body by the way.

  29. early toyota vans had a cool box that was ducted from the A.C. always thought that would be part of my build IF I ever added AC to any project
