  11. Wow, theres some pretty impressive cars shown. Im actually turning a 39 plymouth 4 door into a shortened roadster with a modified rear deck. Sorry, no pictures yet, but its going together far easier than i expected.

Some really good examples shown, but I know there's more, I just can't think of whose they are to search for them. There's a nice 49-52 Chevy from Australia, it's red, a red oxide primered 50ish Packard that's also chopped with slanted pillars, a blue 52ish Oldsmobile that's also hardtopped (might have gotten repainted a burgandy color), a green and white '54 Ford with a tri-power Y block, a 49-52 Chevy that was chopped as a 4 door, then converted, A step-down Hudson that I think was also in Australia, plus this...

Then there's this one, which does it to a 55 Chevy using only doors without a jamb donor

    http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228873

These two I think should count, even though the process used more than just the doors and jambs

And another '54 Ford that the whole body shell got swapped off of, I know it was just updated recently but I can't find it,

This is the one by "Ether" that was mentioned above

Don't know if these have been posted or not yet

I built this 40 merc from a 4 dr a few years back. The japanese buyer took it to Winfields shop for paint and chrome...now it's in Japan.

^^ Very nicely done. I'm usually not a big fan of removable Carson tops, especially on a 40's sedan that has very little trunk length, but that one is a game-changer, the flow is excellent.

I did this one a few years back... His Aunt left him the car and so it had some family history. He always wished it was a 2 door so I made it happen for him.

I know this doesn't count because I turned it into a 3 door. The curb side rear door was a suicide door so we added the post to the door and made it open with the rear door. Open the front and rear and the whole side of the car opened. It was my sons first build and I always teased him that it was golden, he could get the big women in the back of that ride.

I like em. My aunt has 49 olds she will give me if I don't sell it. But it's damn ugly with 4 doors.

    love the conversions!

  22. I have seen many real good conversions on the HAMB, with the two doors getting harder to find (at a good price) I think it is the way to go. What do you do with titles after the conversion? just save some photos to show it is the same car?

Yeah we did a 3" taper chop then pied the hood. We took 6" out of the rear door and added the 6" to the front door giving the front doors that long 2door look. Moving that B pillar back 6" gives the windows a better look in my opinion? Look at the stock Plymouth's and the windows are all close the same length.

Busy buiding a '51 Chevy into a custom car.
Originally a 4 door. Cause of the lack of coupe doors here in Europe we had to extend the originals. Still a lot of work to do. Thanks for looking. Chris.
