I'm going to use the wide five wheels on my build because I have them, they're in good shape, and I have drums for them. So it solves a major budget issue not having to buy wheels and drums right now. Have any of you seen caps other than the stock caps used on these? Because I like the wide five wheels, but I'm not crazy about the stock caps. Pics please. Thanks, Andy
look at 35 - 36 factory spider caps, pretty cool if you ask me. I am some what biased, as i have a set on the wall in the shop.
I forget what year these are but they are my favorites which is why I have two sets. I think they're 38 deluxe? The shape is less pointing then the earlier years and more like a '40 ford wheel shape when a cap is on.
I am a huge fan of the wide 5 wheels. I use the 1938 wide 5 caps on my 29 pheaton. -38 standard in front and -38 DeLuxe in rear. On my next project, a 1932 4door with lincoln V12 im going to use wide 5 18 inch wheels with Lincoln Zephyr 1938 caps.
Those are '40 Lincoln Zephyr caps. I had a handful of those a few years ago. They go for Big $$$. At least they did a few years ago. -Fryguy
I spent the first fifteen years of my life looking at grandpas 37 Ford with no hubcaps and sure was disappointed when I found the ugly original hubcaps in the barn
