I took a baby highchair apart and covered it in a "zarape" cloth and bolted it on. The cloth didn't hold up to well to the wear and tear of constant use so I decided on a tuck and roll style.

I kept on tweaking and did some hand lettering, sort of (not bad for my first try ever). Re-did the siderails, added some hubcaps and bolted the newly covered seat again.

  3. My baby girls love the easy roll out on the ground access. I love an excuse to pull my beverages around a show...even if it's water and root beer. Have to mount the back fenders though, my daughter "Repunzel" laid back to snooze and I heard a scream next to turn around in horror as I saw her about to be scalped by the axle. Explaining bearing grease dreadlocks to ma was fun that day. :D

I'm happy with the end result, I toyed around with the idea of adding some carbs but it's still up in the air.

Radar, with that frame your childhood dreams of riding in a wagon might yet be fullfilled! haha Well, after a few rounds of beer that might be the case. Good start! Nanillo, that wagon has taken an awesome turn! I like the seat and the "Rusty" Flyer!! I just finished another one. It kind of just took off after I started with one idea. The ".50" cal barrells as I call them on the sides, I just used some tubes left over from an outdoor patio set. The frame is 3/4" conduit. I used the exact paint from WWII. The handle is a real dummy grenade. The pins are Army pins from WWII also. And a used .50 cal ammo box tops it off. I have begun to enjoy these theme builds. Any questions just let me know!! Enjoy. Cheers!!

The pedal cars were always fun. I still have a few old ones left that maybe I will get to some day. I made some as strollers and got a lot of good use out of them. The sad part is my 3 grandsons outgrew them fast. They like John Deere so I restored tractors for each of them and built some bikes. When they get a little older maybe we can get into a real car build together.

Here's a little one we whipped up at the shop. I bent up a drop axle, and a drop tie-rod for it. Hot rodding, at its smallest.

For the Radio Flyer crowd, I made a subcompact wagon... body is approx. 7" x 12", so no kids are going to be pulled in this desktop chop.

I used a lamp pipe (the hollow threaded part where the wires run) to create the axle tubes, a leftover adjuster rod from an old car seat to extend the axle width (how can I have leftover parts from a seat I'm using???), and a cut up heater core bracket to make the front pivot point. So... all scraps went into this. I squirted some ruddy brown primer on the rear axle tube after welding it to the body, and squirted the front pivot piece black. Everything else was left as is. Fun, easy, and now I have yet another thing to clutter up my desk with! Win-win.

Hey, I too did some of those mini wagons. XXL you are correct they are fun to build and easy. I think people are more impressed by these little wagons than they are by their bigger counter parts. Enjoy!

Just finished mine this morning... well, all except for a pinstripe around the scallops, which I hope to get done at the AutoFair this weekend.

    Started like this:

Added some cool graphics to the "mini roadster" wagon today. Also, just finished a wagon for my sister in law and brother in law. They are both employees and graduates of Bowling Green University in Ohio, so I figured it would be fitting to make them a BG wagon for their up coming addition to the family. I made the logo on the side on Microsoft Paint, and printed it out, then traced it on stencil paper, cut out the stencil, then put it on the side and sprayed it. It didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but I have to be critical of my own work right?! Hope everyone likes it.

Just recently finished up this wagon. I received it from a friend, and it had been in a flower bed for 15 to 20 years. I thought what the heck am I going to do with this. So, I decided to turn it into a '50s/'60s drag race car/wagon. I stripped the paint/rust. Flat blacked it. Built the frame, again, out of EMT. I used "Old Ford Blue" engine paint for the wheels. The rear Ford logo is actually a drawer handle. The "headers" and "carb" stacks are just made out of 1/2" EMT also. The handle is a piston. I plan on putting A/FX on the side for the class. It was the early funny car class. Not the greatest work ever..but hey I think it turned out pretty cool!!

My wife just gave me this as a college graduation present. She said it was smaller than she originally had thought but I think it will make for a good practice wagon project and maybe I can use it as an in/out tray at work lol.

Your front axle pivot looks like a late model engine idler pulley from a serpentine belt. Cool project
