Everybody I talk with that went to Columbus, OH said they wouldn't go back there. I think that's why they moved it back to Bowling Green.

lol i'll watch what i'm doing,if i get to go!

  6. Nope!

The event was moved to Columbus due to a "land dispute" that involved the entrance road to the Bowling Green track.

The land dispute was settled (supposedly the NHRA helped) and the event was moved back to Bowling Green thanks to Holley. Bowling Green is Holley's hometown and Holley is the event's major sponsor. So money rules!

Apart from the access problem at BG (since fixed as noted) the main reason that the event was moved to Columbus was because the NHRA own the facility there and the board of directors figured that not having to rent a track would be a good deal--it was not. This came from one of the board members that I have known for a long time.

    The event is June 14th - 16th.

The year break depends on what class you're racing in. Top Stock Eliminator is '72 or older.

I figured they realized the event wouldn't surive if they moved it from Beech Bend after trying it in Columbus 1 year.

  11. I hate it that I have to miss it this year. One of my favorite shows and the trip with my dad over Father's day weekend is always an awesome time. However, family comes first and I have other obligations this year. Will be there next year and hopefully will be bringing my ride.

I raced at Columbus several years ago, and raced at Bowling Green last year at another event. By far my choice is Bowling Green. Even with dodging the goats on the way in.

  14. Those aren't goats---they're Dallas' self-propelled lawnmowers:eek:

Judging by the majority of the responses to this thread it's the other way around?

Going to Commerce to run both cars tomorrow. It's been 7-8 months since we've been out and we've made some changes over the winter. Need to make sure everything's in good order before Bowling Green.
