Now go drive the wheels off of it! It's great to see it finished, I must have read the build threads 3 times.

    It's just beautiful. Congrats!

What is the big deal about seat belts these days,we all survived riding in these cars without them when we were very young. Is everyone getting brainwashed by the government thinking we have to add all this stuff to out old cars.

  4. Jeff, a lot of us grew up ridding in cars without seat belts but you need to take in consideration thousands of hambers grew up being strapped in from the time they were young children and putting on a seat belt is as automatic to them as turning on the ignition.

Seat belts are a personal choice in the older cars and I suspect the fellow member that pointed out the fact of seat belts was simply stating his feelings and fear for the safety of my family.

When I ride in a car that has seat belts I wear them,,and in our state if you have them and don't wear them there is a fine,,it's your choice.

To go a little deeper,I appreciate what a seat belt can do,,had my daughter been wearing one in her car she most likely would not have sustained so much brain damage when a drunk crossed the center lane and hit her head on,,we almost lost her,,that was 12 years ago and she will never be the same person she was.

I am just tired of everyone cramming safety devices at me with my old cars and tell them they will get seat belts when you buy it from me,I still use 60s lawn tractors that do not have any safety devices at all on them and can get up with the blades still on while it running. The younger generation has been brainwashed that they need to be protected from them selves and everyone else should be to which is driving me nuts.

I sold my wagon last year and miss it so I should look for a 55 ranch wagon to go with my 55 sunliner.

  17. I am happy to report that we have now drove the car a little over 600 miles and we have gotten comfortable with it,,it has more than enough power, the 5-speed transmission is fun,,the brakes work great the and the ride is comfortable.

Since the N.S.R.A. has opened the flood gates we are going to drive the wagon to the Nat's South in Knoxville,Tennessee in a couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to seeing some of you guys. HRP

HRP, I remember checking this out last year when you started this thread, however, I didn't look at your fotki album until last night. Looking at the wagon here I would have had no clue how much work you put into it. It looks great! hope you and yours enjoy it for many years to come. Now I'm going to search for the build thread :D Don.

  29. Thank you Don,we have thoroughly enjoyed the car and I appreciate the comments,,

We have all the photos from the album in a book we carry with us,,most people are shocked when the see the photos.

BTW,,there are many different threads,I didn't have enough sense to make just one and keep adding to it. HRP
