In both of the posts above the positions are called out in the correct order, you just need to figure out which lever position locks up the tailshaft, and then you can go from there. R is next to P, N is next to R, and so forth.......

No, with the lever fully forward towards the engine that is first then every step back is a shifter position, i.e. 2, D, N, R, P .

Stick a slip yoke in the output and check that with the lever fully back the trans is locked. All other positions it is free.

  17. If you have a floor shifter and you push it all the way forward it would be in park.

  18. push the lever forward and check to see if the tailshaft locks.if so thats park.if not go the other direction.

I have one in my car. The lever on the trans is pushed toward the engine when in lo gear.

  29. Pretty easy to tell, you will feel the park pall engage and also their is quite a bit of throw between park and reverse.

  30. My fury has a 727 trans and I am just stating how it works in my car. Of course it is a column shift so I guess maybe I was wrong with a floor shifter pushed all the way forward being in park, but I have never seen any transmission that was different than that. But mother Mopar did put left handed threaded wheel studs on the left side of their cars so who knows. I think its all a big conspiracy by GM and Ford to keep the man down. I think I need a cookie...
