:cool:Great thread. Thanks to all for the great and sometimes very rare photos. And as for the way some of these great cars have been treated,WELL,some people just have a major W.G.A.S.attitude about GREAT machines.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

That is correct. But I don't want to get in trouble for posting about anything post-68. Thanks for remembering. Chase

Gasser Willys found in a bone yard. The owner would not sell it.

This FC was a barn find saved by a friend of mine. He has never been able to trace it's history.

    I just checked back,

The car is inside now and other than the snow it is the same way as in the pics I posted.

I hope to get inside and get some more pics so I can do my '38 Olds close to the same way, I love that car, very cool! Mike

I was curious. I grew up in Canton ILL., (down near Peoria), in the 1970's and there were rumors of a 40 - 41 Willys coupe sitting in a barn a few miles outside of town. Never found it, but back in the 1960's there was a fairly well know Willys gasser, (Selkirk & Bork), that was from the area. Thought that this could be that Willys.

I have been contacted from an other site where I have the Willys Coupe posted that it was the work of the Selkirks but not the '40 Coupe they raced .

Hmmm.....That's interesting. Maybe that is the same car that I had heard about back then. Have you tried to contact anyone of the Selkirk family to find out it's history? Last that I knew some of their family were still in Canton ILL.

What are your plans for the Willys? Looks like an Olds/Pontiac rear axel was swapped in at one time???

The Willys is in storage , I hope to find time to dig her out this summer , I have a bunch of early 60's speed stuff & a 345 Hemi to put it back to be period correct .

  24. this thread amazes me with the speed at which vehicles can turn to hell. From strip to ruin in a matter of a few years. Hope to hear of em cacklin again. What a thread.

That will be a cool build. When you get it done, you'll have to bring it out to the Byron Meltdown Drags.
