What famous car made the biggest impression on you?

for me it was the little LITTLE DEUCE COUPE ON THE BEACH BOYS COVER. first drag car was roger lindermood IN HIS 64 DODGE 330 WITH THE REAR BUMPER ON THE GROUND. COLOR ME GONE

As a lil snot nose kid watching re-runs of happy days in the 90s, I remember watching the intro and seeing the roadster truck Ive been hooked on this style of vehicles since.

 

I was into 55 Chevys for years & then I saw this.

Haven't been the same since.

 

As a ten year old, (Almost 50 years ago) this one Hooked me!
Tasteful, clean, and subtle. An anomaly of what was on the show circuit then.

This took a lot of rooting around in my dusty memory bank, but it must have been the customized AMC Javelin that was in Rod & Custom in late '67 - I was 7 years old, and it was the first article I had ever read showing the how-to process in building a custom car. Being naturally curious about how things worked, I was hooked - and followed all the R&C project car articles after that. Wonder where that Javelin is now?

There have been alot, but right now I'd have to say this one. When I was about 11 (give or take a year) I met Ed Iskenderian at Pomona. While my dad and his friends were looking at stuff I wandered over and asked him about his roadster, it was just too cool in person. He told me all about it, the heads, what they were for, etc... this went on for like 5 or 10 minutes. When my dad walked over he apologized for me "bugging" him. They shook hands and we walked away. When we got onto the next isle my dad says "Do you know who you were talking too?". I replied yeah he said his name was Ed, lol

As a kid in the late 60's and early 70's, I watched a lot of reruns of the Green Hornet and Batman. I always loved the cars...

 

Mom and Dad would take us to the World of Wheels show every year in Denver when I was a kid all through the 70's.So as for famous cars that changed each year got see the Batmobile, Red Baron, Musters,Beatnik Bandit,Outlaw and the list goes on. But the car that ruined me was a red 67 HEMI R/T that cruised past my uncles place when we where in Thorton for a family deal.I had to be maybe 11 or 12 at the time.The choppy idle of that 426 changed my life.

I must have built a dozen of the old Johan models of this. And now I have a full size 64!

 

So when I was a yong kid. I found rap video, I saw a car going up and down and then on 3. I said WOW now thats the chit. So from there on I LOVED the lowrider movment.

I was hooked.

 

When I was eleven years old I watched 77 Sunset Strip.
When I saw Norm's Kookie-T I was hooked.
Haven't been the same since!

When I was a kid, my favorite tv show was the Munsters, both grandpas car and the munstermobile got me started.

It wasn't famous, but down the street from my Grandmother's (in East Dallas) a guy had a '57 Nomad, gold with a white top, 30 spoke Cragar wires, and skinny white walls. I remember that car to this day. I wasn't allowed to talk to the owner (was allegedy a mean old man), but I would always sneak over and drool over that Nomad. I'll never gorget it, dang that car was beautiful.
