Had the chance to swing in last weekend, and enjoyed hanging out at the shops and seeing what you've got going on. Great work, and love the projects going on.

today i did some patch work on my neighbors 57 chevy fenders. i made all the patches and metal worked them in. i got carried away and forgot to take pics before i got the patches tacked in. but you can get the idea.

to start on the rear lower area of the fenders, to make the patches i first made a cardboard template and transfered it to some sheet metal.

    then cut it out

the bottom edge has a curved break on it, so to get that is used the bead roller with a tipping die.

then i had to put a regular break on the back edge. then run it through the shrinker to get the curve to match the original fender

here is the new (extra) panel

here are some of the patches tacked in

all the panels fully welded, ground, and hammered and dollied out smooth

Great work! Wish I could be there and work with you or at least watch you do body work. Alas!
I sure would like to be able to do some of that quality metal work.

I've been right beside Mike while he works. He makes it look effortless.

  19. How much for a piece of metal 14" X 24" with the 32 Ford truck bead? Run the bead side ways on the 24" side about the same depth that you have it from the top. Doing a crew cab on a 32 commercial truck. Would love to see more photos of your made machine to do that with if possible.
