Shock-waves, airspring/shock combo. Requires no cutting to mount in front, the back is a little more involved but doable.

Nice setup and Rivi! What a/c compressor are you using? The pulleys lined up mounting it to the stock bracket/holes or did you have to redrill and or shim? I'm considering switching to a new style compressor in my 64. If it was a staight bolt in do you have a part #?
    Thanks

It's a Sanden compressor, I'll have to get the part number later. Had to make a bracket for the rear compressor mount, for the front we shimmed it forward and used the existing holes.

  11. Sometimes I just don't understand this forum and how it can show a thread some love and the next one run it out of town. Air ride and hydraulic set ups in my opinion are not traditional, but that's just my take. By the way that's a bad ass Riviera !!!

  13. If you meant that rusty ass truck, it's because it was a rusty ass truck. Air and especially hydraulics have been in use for over fifty years.

  14. I had those rally wheels on my riv with no spacers, fit just fine.

  15. John, since you don't like my avatar, can I give you a selection from one of the following three cars I used to own and help me make a decision of which one I am to use ? Your help will be appreciated. Oh by the way the 61 has a hydraulic suspension . Much thanks ! Painter D would you please accept my sincere apology for my B/S in the middle of your thread ?? Thanks

    Them damn minitruckers.....

    Looks good Danny.

I noticed a few people asking about the strut bars...

I mounted my shocks (Qa1 adjustables) on my 71 LTD off the strut bars, but I beefed up the bar, and to help w/ turning clearence I mounted the shocks through the frame....dont look at that sway bar bushing.....

  17. Nice rides, but none really fit the criteria of this board.

Just dug up this thread, as I'm waiting the air-ride system for our '63 Riv. Great info, I've never done an air suspension, and was a little apprehensive, but was happy to see this Riv (even the same color my wife picked out!) made to look easy. And the photo of the LTD with the inboard shock on the front strut rod looks like a winner too...
