So here is the deal, I am going to the Monterey area for 8 days and I was wondering where are some cool rod shops or car places to check out while I am there. Any info would be helpful.

    Thanks.

if I were from Kansas and went to Monterey I'd be spending some time checking out the coast, a person can see HOT ROD stuff anywhere.

You might see if anything is happening at Laguna seca raceway. And drive a coupe hours north for Turlock swap on the May 6th?

Went to Salinas Boys shop. Cole and Susan are real nice. We got to look around the shop and bought some cool gear. Also took in the car, bike and flat track races on the 5th in Salinas and a good show Sand City on the fifth. And oh yeah 49ratfink, i spent plenty of time at the beach.

There's also Reggie Jackson's collection in Sand City called Route 66 I believe. Rod Powell I've been told has a small shop in Salinas.

    RDP,
a second vote for Baja Cantina.
lots of authentic parts, pieces, automotive signage.
some on here bitch about the price and the food, but i like both.
lots to look at while you're there.

i've never been there, but you might want to check out the museum at Canepa Design.

    Good luck!

There is a Saturday morning get together in Santa Cruz every week, 7:30 to 9ish. 41st Ave by the Safeway / Starbucks, right off Hwy 1.
