Hey guys, looking for a steering wheel to finish my little girls pedal stroller. So if anybody's got one I'd appreciate the help.

Look on ebay or Speedway Motor's. They are cheap.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to change the wheels on one of these pedal cars? I'm planning on buying one in the next couple weeks just to customize it. Its a 32 Ford police car.I'm going to paint the whole car and go from there.

Do you already have a wheel in mind? Toughest thing is going to be matching the hub and axle sizes.

No, I'm not picky on the wheel. Speedway's website is a disaster when it comes to searching for parts. I'll make any kind of wheel to work.

I was considering trying to use the back wheels off the smaller 16'' version of the occ schwinn. and some spoked fronts. Whatever would work for the front.

I've seen that one, I'm looking for something used to go with the theme of the pedal stroller. I can always "rust" that one up if all else fails.

Got married a few weeks ago. We are gonna start trying for our first tricycle motor. I was wondering if someone had some close up pics of the rear steering mechanism on one of the strollers. I ordered a glass 55 body and im gonna start as soon as i can due to too many projects lol. Thanks for any help

  25. I realize this thread is mainly devoted to customs, but I wanted to share a fairly rare find I had this weekend. The car is a 1956 Murray Garton "Dragnet" Police car. Still has the speaker and battery pack intacked. Thinking about leaving this one alone even though at one time some little guy thought it would look better in black. The body is real nice and this thing is still ridable.

Not trying to be a PITA here, but to us pedal car geeks it matters. Murray and Garton were two competing companies....
Your car is a fairly rare Garton...The dragnet car is a nice find!
I cringe at some of the modifications on this post, but I have to keep reminding myself that old full size car restorers wail and cry at what "hot rodders " do to their beloved old iron.
I'll crawl back in my hole now.

  27. Chaz, thanks for clearing this up. During some research I found what little I could find on the car and some had listed it as both as if it was Murray/Garton. I like both, customs and stockers. I do think this one should probably be left alone.;)

The only 59 chevy one that I know of was made in Mexico by Trimex
They made a number of unauthorized pedal cars of American production cars.
