Well with no time of my own any more AT ALL, I got a buddy of mine to redo the WWII Hacked up pickup back into the Roadster it started out life as Doug does super nice work, he also painted my 63 orange and black T-Bird that many of you will remember. This was a challenge cause I wanted it to kinda match the 40 plus old repaint already on the car. A couple of months sitting around the shop and it should look perfect. Here are a couple of shots of before and today when I brought it home. Next step is to get the Flathead in it and get the top and seats in it! BEFORE AFTER Need to drop the rear some more that wood bed was real heavy!!!
Great job.. Aw, after seeing that "What us trad rodders were doing in the '70's" thread, I think that high rear end belongs in that thread. Haha. Coming along rather nicely.
If they had not hacked it in and screwed it up so bad I might have considered leaving it. The doors wouldn't even close right before and the the 1/4's flapped in the breeze! It was BAD!
Rumble seats springs with simple "as original" pleated upholstery are probably still available in black or brown from any Model A Parts dealer. The hinges have been available for about 50 years as have the other hardware in the last 30 or so. The springs are available new from Car-Line mfg. Inc. in Beaumont TX 409-833-9757 if you want to do your own upholstery stuff. They will probably also have the compartment liner boards. NICE change-up. The old hillbilly pickup was nice and different but a roadster IS a roadster.
