whats the one tool in your arsenal you can't live with out and why? any particular tool that you had to fabricate on your own for a particular job?

Im starting to buy my own and wanted to hear what the pros use the most.

  3. 4 inch angle grinder. I have used it to strip entire cars, fabricate metal patches, cut off rusty bolts and a bunch more stuff I probably forgot about

X2 on the 4 inch grinder. I use it more than anything else. Next in line is the welder.

Just about every tool I own falls into this category but my Mig and Tig welders are also high on the list.

my $150.00 Benwill (?) lift. I'm gonna take my creeper to the next swap meet and sell it.

I just did a bunch of stuff on a guys car to get it running and safe after sitting for too long. If I didn't have this lift, I'd have told him I don't do that stuff anymore.

maybe I need to take up yoga.

Basic tools to start out should include wrenches, screwdrivers, socket sets, hammer, files a workbench with vise, and a bench grinder with a wire wheel on one side. an electric hand drill with drill bits and a hacksaw. In the movie Grand Torino the kid asks Clint were he got all his tools and Clint says one piece at a time. That is how all us old guys did it,I used to go to Sears every payday and buy tools.

I'll have to go with popular angle grinder. I even pop on a wire wheel and buzz that rust away.

    Knipex plier wrench
many tools are used for a single job but this is my favorite tool. I have never rounded or left marks on a nut or bolt and these pliers are great for working with sheet metal as well!
