I'm saying essex, simple to tell one because they use a LONG door hinge...

  4. I agree, you do have that "I hope there's not a snake in there" stance.

thats a very solid car and complete enough to make a good build, but Im used to looking at midwest stuff.
find a way to bring it home.

  8. Looks a lot like a '29 Essex Super Six I found in the desert in southern Idaho decades ago. I started packing pieces of it back to the truck every time I walked in to the spot it was sitting in. I amassed a pretty good pile over the course of several years. Finally got some help to go get the rest a few years ago and it was gone. It was about the time metal prices went through the roof. I sure hope it isn't driving around as a Kia now..)-:
Better put it somewhere safe before some less dedicated scoundrel absconds with it!

Wow, can't believe the condition and the fact that most of the important stuff is still there.
That needs to be saved for someone to have a hell of a great start on a project. Great find and thanks for sharing, good to know they are still out there.

Maybe his thought was that the car had more rust than you could shake a stick at.

  12. That is just too cool. It almost has the proportions of a tall T with a slight chop.

Yup...Larry nailed it. The '27 Essex had a smooth cowl, while '28 & '29's had a body reveal from the door to the firewall.
Nice find!! I'd love to get a sedan to match my truck.

'27 Essex Super Six. That's the grille I have! First pic I've seen confirming it. The louvers move like a Winterfront setup.
I don't think mine was ever chromed before.

Great find! That could be a nice project. Great to see another Essex rescued. I can find a home for it if you decide to part with it.

Anyone got an idea of what this weighs? I am guessing 800 _ 1000 lbs ? It would help me decide how to load it.

  19. I know what you found!

how bad ass is that? If you can't decide what to do with it. I know guy with two thumbs who would really like to own it...... this guy

Don't let this one get away from you. Do what it takes to get it out. You can always figure out what it is later. It looked similar to a friends Essex but I could not find any pictures of his to compare. Good luck

I also thought '26-'27 Chevrolet..this is the kind of thing I want to find..always wanted a T sedan..but to have an Essex or a early Chevy would be awesome as well..dare to be different.

I love Oklahoma cars, i went to a guys house in Clayton Ok and his house was literally chained to some trees on the side of a hill. Lots of neat clean cars up there but i will never forget that place.
