Its been difficult to get my son to agree to any paint, but he did get some color on a couple parts today!

Hope everyone had a great 4<sup>th</sup>of July weekend!

I spent most of mine getting my frame welded up. (20 hours of welding, leveling, grinding, re-welding, re-leveling, etc.)

I just wanted to get it ready to place under the car and figure out where the motor mounts, trans, rear end and so on would all go. Well have a lot of brackets and welding to do, so I didnt finish welding the frame solid yet.

Friday I got our frame platform that we use to weld up our machine frames leveled up and ready. This made it a lot nicer to get the frame pieces lined up and keep them square and level.

The front rails had warped slightly so I clamped them to the platform and boxed them in, this straightened them back out.

I then got the back half squared and clamped down, then lined up the rails in the proper position to the back half so I could get it all connected.

I had to stop several times to re-level and re-square everything, also had to use a bottle jack to spread the rails back. (A tube frame would have been so much easier!)

After getting all the sections together I boxed the rest of the frame in. Still looks like Doctor Frankenstein welded it, but that will all get cleaned up later.

What are those tail lights...Did you french them? I really like that color green! Are you planning on putting a floor in? Will it stay bare steel or get paint? What about windows?

 Thanks, we picked that green out very early in the project.

 The tail lights are from a 1950 Pontiac and they are not frenched.  We painted the bezels on them to match the body, so thats whats likely giving that illusion. We had to modify the base on them to fit a newer 12V bulb, but they are still mounted flush on the body.

The body has been painted; we shot it with flat black, silver, olive then brown. Then we sanded it until all the colors showed up in different areas. The original plan was to just clear coat, but when we welded the headlight bucket in to house the gauges, we ended up using a little filler and decided to just shot the whole thing. Well have some more graphics on it, just havent had time to do them yet.

Im working on a windshield frame now. Got the main frame pieces back from the laser cutter the other day, just need to get with the glass company and see what theyll need before I weld it up. That is the only glass were planning on having in it.

Still debating on what we want to do on the top, most likely going to make a wood frame and still leave it open.

Nice car. A hemi is OK I guess. But had you left the OEM engine in it you could have had something that looks like this. My '26 Dodge Bros engine.

 Thanks. I like that water pump setup youre running. Is that something you made or did you buy it?

As for our engine, all we had from the 26 was whats in the first set of pictures. I was determined to run a Mopar engine and a Hemi was top of the list. We found this one at a swap meet, I really like it and its pretty friendly to work with, but parts are sure hard to come by!

Hey n847, I just realized that my son stripped the paint back off on the bezels , he said didnt like how they looked with the paint on them.

Also, yes we are putting a floor in it, just wanted to get everything working first while it would be easier to get to.

The larger lower pump is a Moroso oil pump. The smaller upper pump is a Hilborn fuel pump. I made the brackets and drives to mount them as well as the fuel injection manifold.

Got rebuild kits for both my fuel pump and water pump. The fuel pump rebuild went very well, no leaks or issues, but the water pump not so much.
On the reassembly of the water pump, I managed to break the pump casting (the finned casting that actually does the pumping). After a lot of digging, I found another pump and bought it. It looked very good, so I installed it and took a short drive.
There was water splattered all over the windshield by the time we got home. So, this pump will be sent to someone who knows what theyre doing and get rebuilt.
Ive been looking and the pumps on the 440 Mopar motors look very similar. Does anyone know the dimensions of the bolt circle and pilot diameter on the 440 water pump?
We did get our windshield made and installed Saturday, very happy with how it turned out. At least one positive from all the work Saturday.
