hello guys my name is Erik.
I bought my self a 30 model a truck all stock and whole. I wanting to install a 4" dropped axel, or some how lower the front 3-4 " Im running 750 ww r-16 no fenders and going to channel the cab 4 inches. Im wanting to run all original brakes system and steering. Im good at home fabricating so any tips will be awesome to keep it within my budget but if I have to buy parts its all good.

Howdy from Spokane, welcome. Kinda partial to those Model A's myself. Consider converting to hydraulic brakes, lots of info here on the H.A.M.B. for doing so.

Mechanical brakes??? i Like it, you'll learn if you havent already that they need a bit of fiddleing, and grab harder than most hydralics when tuned right

As for lowering it, a 4" dropped axle wont lower you a full 4", it's measured from the top of the wishbone mount to the top of the kingpin boss on the axle, so a stock model a could be considered a 1/2" or 1" dropped axle.

Basicly a 5" dropped model a axle (which i'm sure some guys on here can do) would get you 4 and probably some change of drop, reversed spring eyes will gain anouther close to an inch, beyond that it is pretty serious frame and chassis stuff,

As for cheap ways to do stuff, seach reversing spring eyes on here, there are a couple articals on how to do it at home for free....
