Replaced the roof on my wagon

A big thanks to Hammer Hank for helping me out...

Bought this wagon several years ago, now. A very solid piece except for the drip rail. Was from Huntington Beach. Anyone with one of these 61-64's know that the drip rail can be a problem...

Found a 63 in NY that was rusted from underneath, but had a beautiful roof...

Finally, switched the roof out... in one day. Much easier than a chop....

That was pretty enterprising. So, did the drip rail on the old top cancer out the old roof or what?

 

Yeah... the roof is spot welded together at the drip rail... a previous owner put RTV over top and when it started to rust up higher, put EXPANDING FOAM in there... like a sponge. Duct tape was holding a lot of it together... Added foam inside the doors, too... that is why they don't match now...
