Nice picks. How were the Ventures they are my fathers favorite band I wish I had enough money to fly him out there for the show.

Excellent. All the bands were great and they had a cool sound system thur out the car show area. You could hear them everywhere.

Thanks for posting up some great pictures. Really want to make it to this show someday.
Even though I live in Reno NV it's a looong 1,000+ mile, 16 hour round trip drive.
Was hoping to get someone to share half the gas bill, but that didn't happen.
    Maybe Next Year.

That's a great way to spend an hour. Really like that you show For Sale signs with the phone numbers - a great public service announcement....;)

I stopped going to Viva. I don't know anybody at Viva anymore. The car show is way different. It's not really a party anymore it's more like an event. Viva was great in the early days but not so much now.

You know me you ham-bone.....you're making me feel un-loved. It was a great time, we missed you my friend !

Hey Johnnie!!! long time no see. I miss you too and all the other Lonely Knights. But I have many reasons for not attending. I guess working during the car show was no fun and alot of things changed for the club. It looks like you guys are taking good care of the car show. I will always keep the memories in my mind of the good times. We never cared about making money, it was about making friends seeing new builds, meeting people from all over the world and party till the next morning, Almost getting married to some girl from Finland. Pouring beer on the slot machine after losing to the one armed bandit and then getting kicked out and I snuck back in. Soapbox racing on the parking structure with tom branch and fabian and many others. Oh yeah and I forgot to tell you the time when i woke up with an out of towner's wife from chicago she was so drunk she thought I was here husband. Holy jesus that was crazy. That was VLV 2. VLV 1 was so new and crazy and young. I know Tom and Alex have to make their money because that is more important to them then friendship but oh well I don't hate them, Im not a hater. I just don't associate with folks like that. Im not wired that way. I do miss viva but it will never be the same. There will always be an uneasy feeling if our club shows up. Johnnie you're a great guy and If I ever see you again I hope you can understand where I am coming from. Oh and here is the tip of the day, Don't fry bacon naked. Hudson Joe.

PS Please tell Laura me and Daisy say hello.

While i appreciate the work that went in to the photo's, I cant believe what this show has turned in to. Being born and raised in las vegas i don't even go to it. Most of the locals I know call it a costume party. all i see is a bunch of the lamest pre-64 cars you could find sure there are a couple of nice cars, but i feel like it is "buy the cheapest car they will accept in to the show, put on your costume and party like it is 1959" could i put on a better show probably not, but when i had to pay 50$ to park my ride in their show (where there was hardly enough room to open the door) it had to be parked by 8AM and i wasn't aloud to leave until 6 when they said it was 3 they lost me as a participant. Guess if i want to see real hot rods i will just have to show up to the GNRs
