Just flew a mission to the grocery store and could not believe how many rods were out and about cruising in Michigan City IN.
Coupes, sedans, and even a roadster with it's passengers all bundled up to keep warm.

    Pretty cool.

Made me want to drag our McLaren out of storage.:D

    Soon, very soon.

The "SUDS" in south Indy had close to 200 last night. The weather around here has been super! Moneymaker, just checked out a nice pic of you in the C.J. car on classracer.

Did I miss something? I didn't see a single reference to STREETRODS in this thread. Are those dang kids playing on your lawn again there Grumpy?

  10. McLaren ... seriously? Are we talking "Mclaren" as in Manta Mirage, Mclaren Mercedes, or genuine McLaren racecar or street model?

Ahhhhh crap ... what I meant to say was ... any pics of those "street rods" (with the Mclaren clearly visible in the background?).

    Did you shoot it???...

  19. My old car wasn't out and around today ... busy installing an EGR, PCV, charcoal can and catalytic convertors. Guess that doesn't make it "traditional" by any stretch but it will be LEGAL ... Don't worry, I'll close the door behind me on the way out ....................

Street rod, hot rod, what's the difference?
I didn't get close enough to check for originality.
    They are all cool.
Isn't a hot rod that is driven on the street a street rod too?

I'm 76 and I built hot rods in the 50's, now I drive a street rod. There I said it, I guess I'll have to join "Street Rods Anonymous". Getting old makes you mellow. If it wasn't for us old hot rodders there wouldn't be trad. rods today.

the fact that you were there and actually lived the early days will only confuse them. and the fact that you like and appreciate other build styles just might make some here go into shock.

Well said, terrarodder, well said. The way I see it, you've earned the right to drive whatever you want. I'm 63, and hope I'm still building rods and am out on the street when I'm 76.
