This is border line Model A Ford judging stuff, but I've got to ask why just primer and not a coat of paint? Was it primed before or after the ring rear was installed?:rolleyes::rolleyes: Bob

Purple pearl powdercoated N-case, and a chrome housing. ;)

That's what I'd do, but WTF do I know :D

Looking for drama I guess... If I was restoring an old muscle car, I'd want to know...

  14. You mean to tell me there isn't an OT forum that discusses details like this? When I redid the center section on my '63 'Bird restoration I did research in several early Mustang forums and kept running into recommendation for Sherwin Williams' Ken-Kromic Red Oxide primer. Looked a little brighter/orangish than the browner-looking stuff inside the carrier, but I used it and so far it's held up ok. They were painted prior to being machined, so there are a few spots that were bare metal.

  15. As a matter of fact the H.A.M.B. does have a place for it.

It's called the "Goodby Club" and many have gone there.

But for the record, I agree with you.

I see you have been to those Mustang club events too and shook your head in amazement.
I read about one where they brought in some retired inspector who had put Certain chalk marks on the firewalls of 66 Mustangs at the factory as a guest of honor. Everyone should go to one of those events just once to observe the goings on. Big discussions on the correct positioning of heater hose clamps on V8 models.
