    Southwest Nostalgia Drags,
Is gearing up for our next event, Saturday April 21st 2012

This event were very honored to present our "Arizona Hot Rod Pioneer" award to: "Al Eshenbaugh" of "Stienegger and Eshenbaugh" race team.

Al & Larry teamed up in the late 50's and by 1964 & 1965 were Arizona's State Champions with their AA Fuel Dragster shown in the attached pics, the team won no less than 15 Top Eliminators in a row at Beeline Dragway during 1964 as well as winning the Arizona Fuel & Gas Championship and held No. 9 on the Drag News Mr. Eliminator List.

They sold the car in 1966 and did their own things including raising family's.

1999 rolled around, one of Al's friends found the dragster sitting behind an a small body shop in Higley, Arizona, some trading was done and the car was Al's once again. He and a few friends started restore it then loaded the unfinished car into a 4 horse trailer (in pieces) and headed across the desert to the 2000 CHRR (Cacklefest One) then finished it up in the pits. Drag Racers Then - Drag Racers Still.

Al says he wants to make a pass after we present him with the award, I'm looking forward to that.

We've also have another special treat:
AZ Quarter Milers Ron Miller Memorial / Flathead -Inliner Challange see their attached flyer f.

Come join us for some real "Arizona Drag Racing History" - and a Great Time To Be Had By All !!!! That Only the "Southwest Nostalgia Drags" brings to every event.

These races are always good fun at a bitchin' track just north of Phoenix.

I'll be there, most likely racing my 409 '63 Impala.

We're looking forward to coming down for it, could use a little Phoenix warm weather. Neither one of our race cars will be done but the boy plans on running the shop truck (64 Ranchero).

  7. A call out to some of the local Flathead and Inliner folks, it would be cool to see some of your rides in the car show area for this great event.

You know I'm there. Trying to get the new super-mini together and may even have the truck ready to make a few passes.

Ron Olmstead was gettin' antsie the other day, so we took some time off from wiring his new mini bike hauler (wait 'till you guys see this rig!) to break out the minis and do a little test and tune... If I can find a day before this deal, I MIGHT have a trick up my sleave too!

We were just talking about the race around the shop, cool, one week away.
We just added slicks and Caltracks to the Ranchero (geez, slicks on the shop truck but got to do something to get the light on the rear thing to hook!) and had hoped to go out tommorrow to test and tune at our track to work on the set up, weather doesn't sound to promising for us to get that done. By chance will there be test and tune the night before (Friday) at Speedworld? Kinda hate to burn time trials to work on the set up.

OK then Steve...err, Chip.... The race starts now! Our mini is in pieces all over the shop, so I'll be thrashing to get it (and Bryans 36.. .and the Scrambler) ready for next weekend.

Cool, be looking for you. I'd be willing to bet your weather yesterday was warmer then ours:D, mid 90's will be a 60 degree swing for us.
