Great job, it looks awesome! I'm glad to see you finally cut it up! 3 days?! When are you gonna come help me finish mine
Clutch dumping Dan 3 long days but I guess when you havnt slept properly for a year thinking about how your gonna do it and have it built in your head 10 times over things happen kinda easy ish
damn that looks good!!any time you want to come and visit here in the good ol usa you can stop by here and stay awhile.and while your here you can show me just how its done. ill even stay out of your way while your showing me.lol
Haha man I'd visit the U.S and do this everyday ,it was quick to get this much done but I still have to grind back welds , finish the window stuff , finish the inside bottom of the b pillar then beat it a little, then it's time for my best friend bog, then French 50 tail lights(not the deep tunnel type) just neat subtle frenching
Not to forget stupid amounts of sanding , spray putty , primer then the good bit ,put it back together and drive it
what have you done to that beuatiful mordor ! ??? faarrkk ! nah..lookun sweet man. Your the reason i got a '51..this better not be start of the reason as to why i have to 2-door mine...hahahaha.
Loglady I got that other set of two door doors if ya want them to put In the back burner for when your car wares out and needs a ten year makeover
perfect !..ill take u up on that. Now that the 51 is regod..it might be getting worn out sooner rather than later !
Nice work. I think I'm the only person that like 4dr shoeboxes more than 2drs though. I would have left it but thats just me.
Thanks it would be cool if you kept it ive got bored with my cars sometime best thing is just lock them upfor a couple of months dont even look at it then get it out again its like having a new car I wouldn't sell anything if ya don't have to
Thanks people sorry 4 door fans if it wasn't for the shape of the rear 1/4 windows (back door window) I wouldn't have done it but I can't stand that shape , I always wanted a two door but they never got bought to Australia new but now I got a right hand drive two door there's not many of them around
I have never seen it done like that, GREAT job. 3 days you, have got some talent. Nice ride Godspeed MrC.
Update time just had a few days off work and had a thrash the actual two door stuff is finished next im frenching 50 ford tail lights and shave the door handles then it's time to start just the normal things you do for to get it ready paint so here's what I've done now
Seamless transition, well done. I like the grille surround and floating bar as well, what's that made from? '51 grille centers maybe?
Ok another update I frenched in 50 ford tail lights today . I like the subtle French and i hate the deep tunnel frenching ( sorry fans of that) . I started with solid rod that was 8mm thick or around 1/3rd of an inch (i don't do inches) and cold bent it to the shape of the lens and welded the ends together
Then I cut the centre out of where the tail light used to sit. So I could get the lens through from inside the hole for final fitting
I cleaned off all the old paint and got reminded of a bog job I did 10 years ago before I could weld patch panels etc. I then spot welded the frame to the body and cut out the rust spots
Then I cut patch pieces and welded them in and then fully welded around the rest , taking my time to keep the heat down I then ground back all the welds
