After selling me beloved 55 1st series chev pickup, I ended up not being able to resist picking up this 63 ap5 valiant safari.

Brought this Nomad back from the dead with a ground up. 327, dual quads and a 4 speed. Must change those wheels.

A set of redline tires and it would be a dead ringer for a push truck in Larry Davis's Gasser Wars.

I saw th '57 Nomad post, and had to say "why...??"
looked to the next page, and 3 people already beat me to it...

but what on Earth is wrong with the wheels!
You can't really top those on that car, can you?
They're hard to get just right on the '55-'57s, and with those tires sizes it looks just right.

I am selling my 1956 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery here on the HAMB. Here is a pix....

 

I like the look of the wheels as much as you guys, but I need to change width and offset because I narrowed the rear. Springs in the rear are now centered under the frame rails which will allow wider rims with much bigger meats. Front wheel offset is off a bit, as well.
I agree, no 20 inch rims on this '57 Nomad.

 

Here are some pics of my son and our ragged 61 Chevy. I was teaching and doublechecking him putting a fuel pump on.


He is 8 years old.
