What's Missing?

    1953 Chevy Panel, T believe the locking mechanism is missing BUT would like to see what one looks like, anybody have a pic of one? Is it a one off part or do the front doors have same part? I know it is missing the door key lock but what else? Thanks!

    Looks like you are missing everything for the lock/latch mechanism, which could explain why the door handle is straight down. At least with my suburban barn doors, that lever w/the black knob is not factory.

    It's a givin that the black knob and shaft are not factory thank god!

    I would buy a new pair of Bear claws and weld them in and just be done with it . The person that did that Hack job should be shot !
    Isn't it really weird how someone will take all that damn time and trouble butchering up a door lock like that and making some Mickey Mouse lock system when it would have been much easier to just get the right part the first time !

    The parts are probably the same for 47-55 1st panels so there is a chance it won't be impossible to come up with.
