was hesitant about doing a build thread due to all the hate for "bobber/ rudy" style trucks. but im going to do a hot rod, not a bobber. so i should be golden haha

heres what i started with. 1936 ford cab. not too bad for sitting in a briar bush for 10 years in wet coastal weather.

marked out the cut lines for what i was planning on doing, but that changed pretty quick... was going to go a 3 inch chop and a 3 inch section. but instead i decided a 5 inch chop and no section would be a bit better.

heres a quick mock up of the stance im going for. sorta low but pretty agressive. lookin for the 60's altered look

because the back is gonna sit sorta low ( bout 6 inches at the back of the cab) i started making the frame for it out of 2x4 box tubing, and added a 12 inch step notch. wanted to have fun with the gussets so i plated the sides of the notch with circles rather than the usual diamond shapes.

up to this point ive just been collecting parts. scored this 37 ford passenger car rear end to get the radius rods i wanted and also the spring.
