Heres where we left off last time.

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=675494

I know this being my first major project by myself without my brother was going be a little tricky. Thank goodness I had lots of help and opinions to fall back on. Thanks to www.boernestagecustoms.com in Center Point, Texas. Chris, Trent and Aaron put in lots of hard work and time on this car . And a big thanks to Trent for the shop space I was allowed to use. Thanks to my brother (jjk)and Chandler (cowoc58) for doing the wiring and coming in on the weekends they were available to help fix or put stuff together. Since this was my first car I was going to make sure that every little detail was what I wanted it to be, from the shaving of door handles to the color of the Mexican blanket seat covers. I am sure the fellas were a little scared to let me take the reins on this part of the car but I was positive that this is what I wanted.

    The blank canvas....

Shiner has always been that cool beer to remind you of Texas. Since then they have now expanded their beer selections to many different seasonal tastes. Since I’m such a foodie and grocery store guru I look out for all the new and exciting things that come out. It was about 3 years ago that I saw the new Shiner Dortmunder in the grocery store I fell in love with the colors on the packaging and it was what I had my heart set on no matter how many different ideas were thrown out there. It was what I was gonna have no matter what! The label has a really pretty sagely green color and a sparkly brown accent with a lace like in lay of flowers. I knew it was perfect because these were my two favorite colors and to throw it in the mix I was determined to find a lace pattern I could use to match it perfectly.

This is Trent, he's a fussy bear and the lead gun for Boerne Stage Kustoms. Trent's work is second to none and he's a really great guy to boot.

You may have seen his past work here on the board and at a show near you.

Once we got the car in the booth Trent went to work. I ran my ideas past him and he asssured me I would be happy with the results.

Oncethe fadeaway was done we rolled it outside to get a good idea of the cars flow.

So the next step was to lay the base on the roof.

Once the base was down Trent layed out the panels for the lace and taped it all off.

Once the panels were layed out the lace was applied. The lace is an almost identical match to the Shiner label.

    The pattern came out amazing...

Once the paint had cured we rolled her outside to see how she looked in the sun.

To say the least it has POP!!

Once we had the paint work done we assembled the bumpers, trim, and tailights back on the car.

Looks good, I like it. I like the paint divide on the roof too. Any plans to run caps? Are the wheels painted? Hard to tell from the pics.

Wow - looks very cool -keep us posted with future pics. hope you have cleaned the blue off your whitewalls. sometimes when exposed to weather, Sun, etc the blue will stain the whitewall.

WOW, what a difference two years can make, love the paint and the colors, I had a buddy who years ago ( in the early '60's) had a '54 ford coupe, it was black with a white top , lowered with fender skirts, and dual glaspacks, it was a great looking car, I have aways loved the '53 and '54 fords even though I am a chevy guy (actually I like all makes of cars and trucks). Remember; take your time and make it your own style....It looks GREAT !! Ray...

I never cared for the '53 and '54 Fords, but yours is changing my mind.

Hey Guys, I tried the Caddys and they didnt fit, my bro and I are planning on getting the frame and motor swapped and eventually the interior finished. It was the most fun and hard work I have ever put into something, and one of the coolest investments :) Good Luck on your project and more pics to follow...as phase 2 begins...
