Shot my 51 Fastback with Slicksand, ok to leave primed?

So after a bit of bodywork I shot my fastback with slicksand primer and can't decide on a color at the moment, that and I need to get onto some mechanical items now to get it rolling. So I'm thinking of top coating it with a john deere buff primer primarily for the color (bulldozer yellow color), just something temporary. Any issues in leaving it this way for an extended period? I've read some stuff that states that the slicksand alone is sufficient to rappel moisture, just don't want to screw up the work I've already done.

Will a sealer will sand off as easy as the primer down the road? not even blocking at this point.

I was told slicksand needed no sealer coat before topcoat.

That's what I'm hoping, it seems to have a good shell to it.

I would still spray a sealer to keep moisture from penetrating the slicksand. But to be sure contact the manufacturer for their recommendations. Looks good so far.

I Did my model a in Slicksand, its a polyester primer, you not really suppose to wetsand but they say its okay, I didnt, and I did not use a sealer, but I did not have any old paint on the body either. I would not run around with the car just in primer unless its sealed.

  8. Maybe you could just spray it with some basecoat color right over the slicksand. Should repel water and shouldn't be that hard to sand back off.

Polyester primer is just like uncovered bondo.......it's a moisture sponge. Unless it is very dry where you are at and it is going to stay indoors, I wouldn't leave it unsealed for very long.

It will suck in moisture, probably O.K. if kept indoors.
I had a car in slick sand for over 2 years, didn't have a problem but it never left the heated garage.
