    1937 chevy 1-1/2 ton project.

I picked up this truck I was going to use for signage for my business, anyway one thing led to another & after getting this old bird home & a ton of PB & WD-40 oh and allot of frosty beverages shes up and running :D

now as you can see its pretty rough so I wanted to do another one so I picked up a cab & chassis from a board member that bought a pristine tuck and parted it out  oh well that's his business, anyway Ill be in need of some parts & was checking to see what parts are interchangeable for these trucks (year to year)
so the old COE & the 31 ford are on the back burner:confused:

what was really cool is how the paint cleaned up with just some steel wool...

  5. Late-36 thru 38 share most parts, then changed over in 39 to the 39-46 cabs.

one thing that was super cool was the dang thing sat for 20+ years & I take a tank & some fuel, run a line to the carb & jumped the starter with a 12 volt battery & the dang thing started up & ran as if it had been run the day before, the one picture of it stuck in the mud was after I got it started, of course I had to drive it, I went run'n around the o'l pond there & of course I knew it didn't have any brakes so drove it off into the mud to slow it down..

wooo whoo that was fun tho

Kind of sucks as only the '37's share the same parts as the '38's. Thats it. Then the '39-40's are the same and then the typical 41-46's and so on. The '36's are totally different trucks.

Not a big parts supply as there weren't too many sold in '37-38. Finding parts for either these years has proven to be quite a bitch. Ebay and this forum have been pretty good though... you gotta keep checking though.

Cool project! Looks great so far!
