Projects Dragster Project - Running and about ready for 2012

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kerry, Mar 21, 2012.

  1. I finally got the trans oil leak completely sorted out. Along with the loose converter, I had leaks at a couple of the pump bolts which also hold the JW Ultrabell on. Some silicone and they're fine now. Since I had to pull the engine a second time to seal the bolts I put a new front seal on just for. Here's a bit of video of the first fireup. Smokes a bit because of the oil in the chamber after pulling and checking the plugs.

She needs a major cleanup and I'd like to make a better lower body panel but she's ready to run. :)

  10. NICE! I was going to call 2 hours ago but figured it was too late! So, you are sleeping in the shop with the digger!?!?!

And the kid firing it! I was 4 years old sitting in an Offy powered Midget doing the same thing, God Bless you man!

  15. Thanks for the kind words guys. :)

We got it down the track at the HAMB drags last year a few times. Working out the bugs with the car... and me, I never got a solid pass. Traction was a real issue so instead of last years pie crusts I have some 9 inch MT slicks. Starting narrow so I don't need wheelie bars.

You are right, those old piecrusts don't bite worth a damn. I found that out the hard way at our Billetproof drags. :(

I don't have sound on my laptop and watched you spray prime the injectors and then there was some smoke from the tubes...now how did he do that! i wondered..then i saw the little head bobbing around looking thru the steering wheel!
Livin the dream, fantastic! I wonder how he managed to relate that to his classmates? That video is a keeper!
