I am new to plymouths and trying to get mine on the road.

I was hoping one of you P15 guys can help me identify this MC.

My car has been mildly customized and the drivetrain was upgraded, but I thought that the MC was factory.

I ordered a MC rebuild kit...not the right one. Now I realize that the MC is to badly pitted in the bore so I would like to get a reman. The issue is that any image of any replacement MC that I pull of off the net looks nothing like the MC that I have.

Can someone tell me is this a stock 48 plymouth Master Cylinder? If not, what is it?

Just looking to get on the road to shake it out for this year. May upgrade brakes to a disc kit next winter.

The stock master cylinder was under the floor, bolted to the frame. The stock brake pedal mounted on it. If your pedal still comes up from the floor, take a look, the stock master cylinder (or part of it) might still be under there.

Anyway, they are easy to find. I think all or most Mopars of that era used the same or similar ones. And they are easy to rebuild.

that master cylinder looks like one from a 1964 chevy

  5. Nope just a single off a 60's mopar. try a 64 dart and see what you come up with.

  6. Great looking car.....congrats.

Here's an exploded view of the P15 master cyl. I believe they can
    be sleeved.

Brake pedal assy.....from the Parts Manual.....which you should get at
    some point before long.

The brake and clutch pedals pivot thru the hole in end of the M.C.
So, as someone said, you might look under and see if the old master
is in place. It's accessed for filling purpopses thru an oval hole in the
driver's floor....with a lid that pivots and also can be removd.

Thank you HAMB for verifying that I dont have the stocker.

Thanks especially RODHOTZ - not looking to reinvent the car at this stage. It has not run in 5+ yrs - would like to see what i have before I start making changes.

I will start searching for mid 60's mopar M/C info.
