Sunday me and some club members took a road trip down to Portland to attend the 56th annual Portland Roadster Show. The Slo Pokes out of Vancouver Wa. were celebrating their 60th Annv and had a bunch of quality hotrods in attendance. Ran into some of the Inland Emperors out of Spokane as they had a few rides on display

There were some great cars there, but also a number of cars that were there again from last year, and unchanged. I thought they had a rule against a car being entered again without any major changes to the looks of the car?
There were also numerous cars that were at the recent Salem roadster Show entered at Portland. Another no-no I think, as the registration asks if your car will be at another venue within a short period of time.

A number of years ago my wife and I were in Portland for a concert. Our hotel was not far from the Roadster show venue and we had some time to kill before our flight back home so we walked down. Great show, I had the very good fortune of meeting the late Len Sutton who introduced me to his dear friend and former car owner Rolla Vollstedt. They both treated me like an old crew member. Very fond memories of them and the Portland Roadster Show, hope to make it back someday.

    AMAZING IRON!
I remember when I told a pal in Denver I was moving to the NW and he said that there was no tin up there. Man, he was sooo wrong.

Thanks for nice collection pictures that weren't artsy, but rather just a good well-composed look at the cars.

As a 30+ year member of the Slo Poks I would like to say great pictures and thanks. We had a real good time doing our display. (by the way the red 40 ford 2dr with the americans has been mine since 1972). The Multnomah Hot Rod Council is a good bunch, they went out of their way for us and they worked real hard to put this show on. We, The Slo Poks, will be doing some other cool things this coming summer, so watch for the coming announcements. Thanks again, G.....

saltracer, growing up in Vancouver WA, the Slo Poks were the club I dreamed of joining one day when I got older. they had the coolest rides and every member I had the opportunity to met was always nice to talk with. In fact my first car show I went to with my own car was your event back in 84, when it was in the backyard down in the field of one of the members.

The club still has some of the best looking cars and a great variety.
