Anybody have an idea of what a good shape 33' Packard 1003 is worth. Im just looking for a ballpark. Thanks
A 1003 is a super eight sedan. Really depends on the condition. Cant say without more info. Beautiful car, and for anyone who hasnt seen or worked on a Packard from this era, they are truly the american rolls royce. My 32 ford sedan cost $800 new, these were $4000. Buy it!
In "pretty good"-running, drivable, good used car-condition about $50,000.00. These ain't and have never been cheap cars. The V-12 cars start around $100,000 if it's just mostly there, the 6's are actually pretty affordable collector cars. The Super 8 cars sort of in the middle.
Truly classical styling, Form the "Olympian age of the Automobile",... Beautiful cars, the 1933 Packard is on my list for the best looking cars of all time.... But the "Convertible Coupe" is my favorite,...
'33 is a popular year- sedan or not, as a Super 8, you're going to be shelling out some big bucks. When you say good shape, is it original, or an older restoration?
Condition is everything here. One guy's idea of "good" vs. a Packard aficionado's idea could be night and day. Also, bad colors could make a big difference in value too.
Check out the 32 Light eight. Packards entry level car during the depression. One year only, and probably the coolest grille ever put on a car. Also note the roof line, wonder were the chopped top idea came from, high end coach builders styled stuff like this, and us hot rodders copied it. http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/myalbum/viewcat.php?cid=36
man thats cool..that will be a few bucks..maybe he'll sell it to you for the price of when it was new!
Do you know the story about the car? There was a tool & die maker in the Trenton area some years back who was a BIG Packard collector that our '30 came from.
The legendary 1932 Light Eight grill shell and low windshield height. One can argue that this could be one of the first factory muscle car. It was the cheapest, lightest Packard of 1932 and only other Packard that could barely out run it was the 1932 Twin Six coupe roadster, which was more than twice the price and had much more power. Makes a Ford look like a pedal car.
Sweet, years ago I saw a street rod in L-ville built from the the same convertible coupe body style. Wonder where it is today? Thought the car was from the south.
