The Thunderbolt video sounded amazing. But it's far too short. With more cars like this on the track, it would sound like a WWII dog fight! Gary

I´ve heard of, or seen anything bout that car. It looks (and sounds) incredible.

Lots of info about the thunderbolt records at www.rcmoss.co.uk - look at the "thunderbolt story" on this web site.

X again back at ya'll. I think they need to get some good tires for that thing and take it to Wendover! Wonder what it would do? (if it could be made to pass tech, anyway.) Gary

When radial engines are used in aircraft, they are usually rebuilt after 300 hours ... they are designed for a completely different mission.

"Excuse me, this torque wrench is defective and I'd like it replaced under warranty."

"What were you trying to tighten, sir? How do you know it's defective?"

"Well, I figure I weigh about 100 kilos, and I'm quite sure it didn't click before the motor popped back and I got thrown into the bushes."

"Popped back? Thrown into the bushes?"

    "Uh, well..."

Here's one that popped up in the Cyclecar thread. A recent "creation" from the UK.

A Globe-Dayton fitted into an Amilcar CGSS
3 liter: based on a Ford A bottom end with air cooled barrels (maybe it's only used during a typical UK winter?).
Here's the story about the Globe-Dayton from this website.
    http://www.memaerobilia.com/engineselection.asp
I've been told only two of these engines survive.

I didn't look back through the thread so this could be a duplicate post, hope not. Hot Rod mag had a article in the mid '60's called "Rattlin' Good
Roadster" about a hot rod with a Lycoming A/C engine. Anyone remember?

Now, that is too much! Scrutinize any little tiny portion of this picture and you should be overwhelmed. When you put together the whole thing i go into sensory overload!
This looks like something from a Spielbreg movie with stage props - an impossibly rigid machine operated at WOT by a madman with a mechanic jumping moving around for best possible weight advantage, silly-short exhaust toobs (if it were night there'd be 6" of flame) bellowing away echoing off the mountin while skidding around with locked chaindrive axle wet roads and the guardrail appears to be white trash bags stuck over who-knows-what with some old clothesline stretched between them. Man! it don't get better than that! Can you imagine getting to the top and ripping your goggles off your oil and rain soaked face - goddamn!
    thanks for posting this pic!

The kind of picture that would make most wives go "Hon, buy a motorcycle, it's safer..."
