I am planning on starting a thread to find out the history of my willys. Im just having trouble getting pics together on my computer to do it. Im hoping my computer friend can help me with this soon. My willys is out of Wisconsin. It was last raced in 66 so I am told. I was also told it was seen racing at York in 65 &66 by the past owners friends after he had purchased it.

  5. That is Hank's (hcar) black coupe in my garage. He brought it to me to convert the front end to a tilt setup, with or without the hood. Not a H.A.M.B. style car but some of you might be interested.

Didn't know Hank had got himself another Willys - is this a recent acquisition?

The non Hamb compliance can be easily fixed - stock height spindles instead of 2" dropped, all the factory trim is already on it. Door handles, and maybe some bigger diameter wheels and bigger front brakes. The Halibrands and spinners I'll be selling from my '40 would look great on that car....

  11. justntime.....it's a pickup I am building with parts on hand and some rough sedan panels I acquired in a trade. I am building it to sell, probably as a roller. I will start a build thread when I get a little further along.

Just looking for ideas for a/c unit in my 39 willys sedan . the firewall is pushed back, there's about 4" between dash and firewall. Thought id put it in the trunk, but I use the car daily, and hate to lose that space. I have an under dash Hot Rod air, but it's too big looking. Anybody try that mini vintage air unit?

4" is not going to allow anything to fit. I just reinstated the stock firewall on my 1940 coupe by moving the engine and trans forward 3.5" and lengthening the drive shaft. The engine and trans mounts had to be relocated too of course. I have fitted a Vintage Air mini unit and there is only JUST enough room for that. Your best bet may be to extend the dash back 4" into the cabin. You will probably have to put in a longer steering column too. Otherwise move the engine trans forward, as I did, by using a cross flow radiator with dual electric puller fans located deep in the center section. On a 1939 that is no easy task and any which way you are faced with major surgery....
