Hey! Phoenix H.A.M.B.ers...

Just got back from lunch with Nick Flores from here on the board. We were muchin' Caroline's mexican food, and talk turned to favorite dive bars around town... Well, the upshot is this: Lets get toghether and have a drink next Thursday evening!

See, thanks to Hot Rod Ron, I know of this cool little joint on the corner of Oak and 16th street down here by me called the "Royal". A buddy in the know locally says he remembers it having been there as far back as the early fifties. Great neon sign out front, spunky, wise, tough 85 year old grandmotherly type servin' behind the bar, and just general non-pretentous-but-not-gonna-die-goin'-there-kinda vibe. Something Phoenix (Lord god king city of modern fern bars!) in general is lacking big time.

This'n's easy. Lets get together at 6:30 on Thursday, March 22 and have a drink or so. Easy. There is also an epic taco shop right down the way if any body wants to later adjourn to there for some food. Swap a few lies, hopefully show up in few H.A.M.B. friendly vehicles and have a good time.

I'll be there, greasy and somewhat smelly after work, but that's not really much different any other day.

 

Got a real potential conflict, but I'll try to get there nonetheless.
