    Nice save. I just did a old Ford truck grille and never thought about using heat. Thanks for the write up.

    great write up.with this in mind i attempted the grill on my 38 pu which had similar damage,what had i to lose.ive been looking at it for nearly 3 years.after shaping some 5mm and 3mm plate i made great progress , welded the snapped bars and some cracks.spent two hours at it another hour tomorrow should finish it.saved $400 plus shipping for a made in s america replacement. thanx bud

  6. Nice to see some good ol' school repairs/workmanship still out there. Back in the day (30's 40's 50's etc) body shops would repair the most mangled metal . Almost a lost art today. Looks great
