Replacing my 218 Plymouth stock engine with a fresh 230 higher compression, large valves, large.6 volt grigsby/holthouse coil, split dual headers and edgy cam and home made cool can. I am currently running 218 with edmunds intake and soon to be running it with my edmunds finnned aluminum head. I love driving it on the street and its one of the more interesting "race" cars at the antique nationals in los angeles, once a year pre54 drag races. The final 230 engine is being modeled after what I believe a hot Plymouth would be like in the mid 50s with all the then available speed parts and tricks. I have had a blast at these annual family fun drag races. Bring your flatheads and even your Chevy sizes so we can .race. my goal is to blow away the Chevy sizes and hudsons or at least take a chunk out of them!

Thanks. It's my first try at a hotrod, but I'm pretty pleased with the result.

  8. Well I'm straight but I'm not a sixer. At my age I'm probably a oner or a twoer at best.

I'm not as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I ever was.

cozee--if you do run a turbo on your 6, you might look into the cast iron truck exhaust manifold with its 2.5" outlet. might save you a lot of work!

WOW, that past and present picture of the 1931 Chevy is fantastic! That picture of your girlfriend/wife is really hot. Who wouldn't like 6 cylinders?

The stock (re-built) 194 6 in my 64 Acadian. More detailing and chrome coming to the engine and engine compartment this spring.

I have a '52 Chevy running a 302 GMC straight six bored out to 320 ci. Has a full race cam (I was told), Hicson Headers and an Edelbrock 4 BBL. Gobs of torque and power. For some reason, the header pipes run into one exhaust out the back. I was wondering if I ran another pipe and smitty mufflers if it would sound like a chevy six?

62 Chevy II. This was the last motor my dad rebuilt before he passed away. The car was left to my oldest son. Runs great and the A/C works as well.

How the heck did you get that M90 to work on that manifold?? Is it custom or just a modified original manifold?? I have 3 of those things sitting under my toolbox in my garage that I would kill to install on my Chevy 235. How much boost is it making and have you had it dyno'd??

  30. Not one AMC represented???? OK I'll can contribute with my POS-engine: Stroked 4.0 JEEP inline now 4.5 liters 9.25 CR Offenhauser with Holley 600 and an 25 year old Crane Hyd. cam that is in it's 3 engine now, this is a engine built by leftover-parts and nothing fancy at all, needs an overbore and new pistons but it runs for now, will build a real engine once this one gives up on me...

I'll stink on this stuff of posting pic's so I'll just post a Youtube-link from this last summer showing me an my roadster testing some timed test'n'tune journeys...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2npC-E9v-3Y&feature=youtu.be

The funny ratteling noice is from valvefloat since the stock spring really don't like the ,484/.512 lift that much...it also occured at 3/4 out so it didn't pull all the way to the finish-line,but it's a engine built from scrap so I don't really care, the next one will be a tad more serious...
