I'm one of those "Lurkers" we all keep reading about. I signed up a little while ago and decided to go ahead and post tonight.

I'm rebuilding the 1953 F100 I bought as a teenager for the second time. I figure this time should last me the rest of my life.

It has it's original flathead 8, stick shift, and straight axle. I like it that way. I had an eleven month distraction, but I'm back in the game again.

This is a heck of a great site. I love real traditional hot rods. I'm so sick of "rat rods" "tuners" and expensive showroom cars that I almost hate going to car shows. I went to a "cruise in" last year and didn't even stop. It looked like a scene from the Fast and the Furious.

You've found the right place (and using the right avatar) IMO.

This is the way my truck stands for the moment. I'm getting ready to go through the engine and freshen it up. It was running Okay, it just had some leaks and I'm having steel threads installed in the spark plug holes. Maybe a little "warmer" cam.

It's been a long time since I joined and posted. Someone from here asked me how the truck was coming, and the answer is "slow". As usual, life keeps getting in the way.

The brakes are rebuilt as original except for the addition of a dual master cylinder. The drive train is finished except for installing the radiator, fuel line, and oil filter. Almost ready to test fire. Work on the body has commenced.

Here is the way it looks now:
